movie caps

                                                               Starstruck (1982)
Delightful Australian musical.  To this day I am appalled that it doesn't get half as much hype as Taxi Driver.  This movie makes me want to try red hair-- it seems to add something extra to every outfit and looks absolutely fantastic with red lipstick! Also I need to acquire a bone piece and try that Bam-Bam esque hair trick.
Wish I'd gotten a better shot of Jackie's minty waitressing uniform. (Self Note: Need to make a diner-girl uniform appreciation post.) Settled for this shot of her and class-cutting cousin Angus instead: The heartthrob of my 12 year old self!
The room shared by the two cousins is the height of wondrous.

Boys Don't Cry (1999)
Just a few shots of Chloe Sevigny being enchanting.

Some Girl (1998)
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I found it under Juliette Lewis on netflix, and though the description made it sound fluffy and banal, I ended up enjoying a stir fry of unsweetened relationship truisms and emotionally vulnerable characters.

Party Monster (2003)
Movie surrounding Micheal Alig's involvement in the New York party scene and the club kids of the late 1980's and early 1990's.
Seth Green and Macaulay Culkin perfectly illustrate the relationship between Micheal Alig and James St. James.  Though the movie perfectly captured the movement's glittery ecstacy-hooked essence, half the fun was watching these two!
The actors really seemed to have so much fun with their roles. The clothing and makeup choices were, to put it mildly, outrageously brilliant.
The stunning Amanda Lepore makes an appearance!
More of darling Chloe <3

It's Ricky with wings!

While I found some parts difficult to sit through (needles make me squirm), I would definitely consider this a worthwhile watch. Before seeing Party Monster I knew little about the movement, but it drove me to do some research on the Club Kids and I spent a good half hour watching Micheal Alig interviews.

I hope there is something for everyone here! Next post is scary movies methinks. Comment a scary movie and I will either watch or review it!
